Wetlands and Watersheds

Description: Following a demonstration of watershed function, students take to the trails and use a contour map to study how the shape of the land directs water flow. Compare wetland versus upland soils and learn to identify some wetland indicator plants. Play a game that demonstrates the importance of wetland protection.

Fee Information: $7.50 per child; $7.50 per adult.
This 2-hour program may be combined with another program to create a full-day of hands-on learning. Full day programs are offered at a significant savings. Full day rates start at $11.50 per student and depend upon the programs selected. We provide a ratio of one Moose Hill teacher naturalist per 12 to 14 students. We can serve up to 130 students for full day programs. One adult (teacher or chaperone) is free for every 6 students; additional adults are charged the student rate. The minimum fee is based on 10 participants per Moose Hill teacher naturalist scheduled for your program. Contact the Moose Hill education coordinator to learn more and to schedule your program.
