Description: Looking to improve your biotechnology techniques this summer? Join us for our FREE 5-day BioTeach Summer Institute! The workshop will be held Monday - Friday, July 8th - 12th, 2019 at UMass Amherst. During this exciting week, teachers will focus on an advanced cloning project that provides context for biotechnology tools such as PCR of genome DNA, Gibson cloning, colony PCR and protein purification. In addition, teachers will practice biotechnology and molecular biology techniques and lab activities that can be taught in a high school classroom.

From Monday - Thursday, the program runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:30 PM (three evenings, TBD). On Friday the program runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Parking, breakfast, lunch, and two evening meals will be provided for all participants.

In addition, the opportunity to earn up to 67.5 PDPs will be provided to attendees that participate fully in each day’s activities. Graduate credit is available for a fee to participants who complete the program.

If accepted into the program, a fully refundable deposit of $100 will be required.
