Delphi the Whale

Description: Delphi is seventeen-foot wooden model of a Pilot Whale skeleton. The program starts off with a half-hour slide show that familiarizes students with marine mammals. Following the slide show, students will participate in small group activities that focus on taxonomy and whale size.

All the information the students have learned culminates in the cooperative assembly of Delphi! Lloyd Center staff will guide the students through the assemblage of the model. To top it off, students will be able to see and touch marine mammal pieces including baleen, teeth, and bones. The program ends with a question and answer session. Delphi is an exciting learning experience for younger and older students alike!
